Table of Contents

Every year, it seems like the same old story: countless articles pop up about seasonal hair shedding as fall begins. Whether you have kinky, coily, curly, or even straight hair, we're often advised to adjust our hair care routine and take supplements if our diet isn't providing all the necessary nutrients and vitamins for optimal growth. But what's the real deal?

I want to tell you, don't overthink it, whatever the season, live your life with your hair peacefully without asking yourself questions! But it doesn't work like that!

With each seasonal temperature change, more pronounced in autumn, you might notice more significant hair loss than usual. Don't panic, it happens to everyone, more or less; some people don't even realize it. If the phenomenon lasts beyond three months, see a doctor, it's not normal!

To answer the title's question, it's not necessary to change your hair routine if it suits you and your hair doesn't have any particular needs.

If the loss isn't significant and it doesn't hinder your life, move along! The rest is for those experiencing quite significant hair loss!

Your Diet

Often relegated to the background, we must not forget that a balanced diet is important for overall beauty, your skin, and your hair.

You need to provide all the necessary nutrients for your hair and, of course, the rest, for your health, quite simply.

First and foremost, drink water! I can't stress it enough, water is life! It's the first thing to do!

Nature is well-designed, eat seasonal fruits and vegetables; they will provide you with all the necessary vitamins to face the upcoming cold. Here's a link to a website that lists them: https://www.fruits-legumes.org/

If reading about seasonal fruits and vegetables made you nauseous, there's another solution...

Dietary Supplements

Warning, warning, don't forget that dietary supplements will never replace a good diet! You've been warned!

On the market, there's a multitude of miracle products against hair loss that also stimulate hair growth.

How to find your way?

Most have more or less the same composition and contain everything hair needs: vitamin B6, iron, zinc, and amino acids. The best thing to do is ask your pharmacist, or if they haven't convinced you, don't hesitate to see a nutritionist or your doctor.

Topical Applications

Don't like swallowing pills? Well, there are also cosmetic products, natural or not, to stimulate the scalp and stop hair loss.

In lotion, cream, or pomade form, just like dietary supplements, you have a multitude of choices.

You can also turn to completely natural products and create your own solution, but be careful with the dosage! This method is still at your own risk! Castor oil and black seed oil are ideal for combating this issue. Without mixing them, you can apply them pure to your scalp if playing amateur chemist isn't your thing!

A few years ago, after my big chop, I experienced significant hair loss. At that time, I used Miss Antilles multicroissance lotion, a hair product line for kinky hair. The composition isn't top-notch, but at that point in my life, I appreciated its company! I can't tell you if it was the product itself or the more regular massages I was doing that stopped the problem. Today, I only use vegetable oils on my kinky hair, and I haven't had any hair loss for years!

Exercise

Like diet, we often overlook exercise! Some hair loss can be due to shorter days, low morale linked to lack of sunlight, back-to-school stress, or returning to work.

To counteract this, practice a sport you enjoy; if you don't like to sweat, walk often! You'll be less stressed, and you'll limit the risk of hair loss.

No secret, eat well, feel good mentally and physically, and everything will go smoothly!
