Natural Hair Tutorial: How I Achieve My Braid Out!

I'm obsessed with braid outs! On Instagram, I'd drool over "SO gorgeous" braid outs, always wondering, "How do they get such amazing results?!" For months, I tried to achieve the perfect braid out, but the desired effect was never, ever there. Either my hair wasn't fully dry the next day, or the curls would fall flat quickly, or if I didn't use the right product, the definition just wouldn't hold. Basically, I tried everything, analyzed every step, but nothing worked... until I finally grabbed a hairdryer to do a blow dry. I was super hesitant about using heat on my hair, so a hairdryer was completely out of the question for me.

It's obvious that a Blow Dry should not be part of your daily or even weekly routine; it should be used wisely, knowing that there are other techniques to stretch hair. (I will test them later in videos).

Anyway, I went with the Blow Dry to achieve my Braid Out... the result, my Braid Out has never been so successful, beautiful waves, volume, and softness...

Below are the detailed steps from the video:

STEP 1: Performing the Blow Dry...

You must protect your hair as much as possible from heat with a good hair milk, accompanied by an oil or a butter. I used the hair milk "SMOOTHIE ANANAS" from Les Secrets de Loly and the Shea Butter from Abiessence.

Dry your hair on medium heat, from roots to ends, strand by strand. Take a strand, after detangling it with a brush, keep it stretched with your hand, and dry it from top to bottom until it is completely dry.

STEP 2: Creating the Braids...

Make medium braids all over your head. Put on a bonnet and keep them in overnight!

STEP 3: Removing the Braids...

Gently undo all the braids the next day. For more volume, multiply the strands by separating them.

Now it's your turn to try!
